Use the Thomas Co simulator (http://www.chem.mtu.edu/~tbco/cm416/pidchoice.html) to tune a PID controller for System A and System B in the simulator.

Find the values for P, I and D settings for

1. Field method

2. Quarter decay model method

3. IAE method.

Determine the time required to settle within 5% of a setpoint change of 0.5. Complete this task for system A and for system B for each of the methods.

Plot the resulting response in Excel and include the optimum settings and time on each plot. Turn in both plots.

Complete this assignment by March 31, 2006.
